It’s pink. It’s very pink. It’s the Akko World Tour Tokyo R2 3096 keyboard from Epomaker. And it’s very, very pink, and very, very kawaii.
The R2 3096 has a 96-key, compact layout which means that (like the GK96S) it has all the keys of a full-sized keyboard, but with the same key spacing used right across the board (i.e.: no extra gaps between the numbers and the Function keys, between CTRL and your Arrow keys, etc).
It’s a wired, non-back-lit (although there’s room for LED addition /customisation, apparently), sturdy (1 kg) desktop keyboard. It’s a workhorse. A proper, heavy-duty, typing machine.
The R2 3096 comes with a choice of Clicky, Tactile, or Linear Akko switches, or Cherry MX Red, Blue, or Browns.
But, is any of that boring stuff really as important when the whole package looks this cute?
“Tokyo is an Asian city with rich history and culture, and it’s a trending travel spot. You will find out romantic attractions such as cherry blossoms, Skytree and Tokyo Tower, that could turn into sweet memories with your loved ones. There are many details that touch you every moment while wandering through the streets in Tokyo including cute cat, unique owl cafe, swinging golden carp and adorable Shiba Inu (brushwood dog). Floriculture, Geisha, Bushido and Shrine are also unmissable if you want to explore Japanese culture. Don’t forget to check out classic scenic spots through Tokyo subway to Shinjuku, Asakusa, Harajuku and Akihabara and Ginza. The mysterious and magnificent Mount Fuji also presents a unique beauty during the cherry blossom season.”
The Akko R2 3096 comes with a gorgeous Tokyo inspired set of PBT pink, white, and blue keycaps (with extra caps included for further customisation). It looks beautiful.
There is also a World Tour Tokyo desk mat and World Tour Tokyo wrist wrest because of course there is. There should be. There needs to be.
The Akko R2 3096 World Tour Tokyo edition is available now for $89.99 – $119.99 (US dollars)
